Temple Square Lights

About three weeks ago Shelly planned a double date for Daniel, Her, Her new boyfriend and Me! She planned it so far in advance because Daniel and I always work and her boyfriend Neil works lots too. Our schedules do not mix well. So Shelly and I planned to go to dinner at the Olive Garden, go to Temple Square and go to Frogurt. Despite the fact that it snowed and was below a temperature worth going out doors, we went. We ate dinner at Olive Garden and it was so delicious! I was able to harass Neil about wanting to join the Air Force. (No one wants Shelly to leave Utah or anything of that matter and if things got serious enough between them that would have to be an option. LAME!) I was also able to give him grief about many other things to see if he could last through me. He did, he passed with flying colors and I like him. After the Olive Garden we headed down town. Since the roads were slippery we decided to take Trax. That was a horrible mistake on my part because they are gross! I didn't even want to sit on the seats! They were stained and yucky and I will never take Trax again.

We had to walk fifty million miles once we were off Trax to get to the temple lights because we got on the wrong train so we wouldn't have to wait 15 minutes for the next. We were freezing cold by the time we got to Temple Square! So we went in the visitors center and got warm and listened to some people playing flutes! I liked this Christmas tree so we took pictures by it!

Then we started walking around the Temple. It was so cold but I wanted some cute pictures so no one would out their hats on until I got my pictures. Everyone froze to death but I got my cute pictures! They are even more cute because you can see the temple behind us in a couple of them.
Daniel doesn't like to take pictures where you are just smiling so we took a cute/funny one as well. I know he liked that since he got to have fun in the picture.
We got a group picture of all of us together but it is a little blurry since the person who took it didn't hold very still and I am bummed! but you can still tell who we all are. That might be my best friend-in-law one day. Its a good possibility.
I really wanted to take a picture next to some blue lights and this is as close as we got. They were a light green with little light blue also. They were cute enough for me to want pictures by!

Here are all the dorks bundled up after the pictures! They all put on their beanies and they said they were warmer. I of course didn't believe them and I left my hat just the way it was because it looked cute :)
This is Shelly and My famous picture. We always have to get one. Even on my wedding day she made me stop and pose like this for one.
After the Temple we went to get frozen yogurt at Frogurt! It is the yummiest yogurt place ever. We are crazy though because we went out for yogurt after being in the freezing cold for over an hour! It was just too good to pass up! So after our double date Daniel and I talked and decided Neil is good enough for Shelly and we are happy she finally met someone that treats her how she should be treated. Also, I decided that I am never riding Trax again, its dirty!

December here we come!!!

Ok, so I am totally lame and I don't have any pictures! My Aunt Jeni has some pictures from Thanksgiving on her camera and in order for me to get them I will have to travel out to Eagle Mountain since she doesn't know how to upload them. So...as soon as I get the pics I will post some. Oh! I just remembered I have one picture from My Aunt Karen's Facebook...There I am not totally lame anymore! Ha ha. So November kept us pretty busy with our anniversary, New Moon, Thanksgiving and Black Friday! (I capitalized this because to my fam it is a religious holiday). Daniel and I went to see The Twilight Sags: New Moon film Saturday November 21. We went with family and of course Shelly and we had so much fun! It was way better than the first movie, we both agreed on that. Then we celebrated Thanksgiving, by celebrated I mean we traveled among 3 houses to make sure we saw all our loved ones. First we had Thanksgiving dinner in Eagle Mountain with all of my moms family. After dinner all of us peeps got together to plan our Black Friday event. Then Daniel and I went to West Valley to visit my dads family. We visited there for a while and my grandma Nelta showed me some of the quilts she has made and showed me examples of quilt types we are going to make together. After visiting there we went to Daniel's Aunt Connie's and visited with them for the rest of our evening. Well, it was the rest of Daniel's evening. My day had just begun. I went and picked up Maddie and my cousin Brina and we headed over to Wal-Mart at midnight! We stood in lines and mapped out the whole thing. Everyone got everything they wanted due to our Black Friday expertise! Daniel and I got a 40" LCD HDTV, Sony Bravia 1080p for our bedroom, we already have a 52" for the family room. That was the main thing that I was after but of course I ended up spending double what the TV cost on other things that were great deals. Next year the family has decided to make t-shirts they will say "Once you go Black you never go back....Black Friday 2010" ha ha ha it is so true too! It is such great fun with us! We kinda lost the rush this year since we didn't have to wait in the cold and rush through the doors, but shopping at Wal-Mart you are pretty much guaranteed your item if you wait in line starting at midnight.

Daniel is almost done with school and we have decided to take a week off work at the end of December which will be nice. Daniel's best friend Josh is coming home from the Navy for 17 days and so we will look forward to spending some time with him. My cousin Stevie is getting married Dec 26 and I will get to see the Twin Falls, ID temple which I am excited for. Then of course Christmas is also at the end of December. I have quite a bit to look forward to in December and I will post more pictures soon! Also of our house at Christmas time with our TREE!!??! I put it up Nov 29 and I absolutely love it! Well ta ta for now! :)

~Anniversary~

2 years down, forever more to go!! :)
November 9 was our anniversary and we had such a wonderful night together. When I got home from work Daniel had surprised me with a dozen roses. They were so pretty and I love getting roses, red is one of my favorite colors and I seriously love red roses. The only thing better than a red rose, is a black rose. They are seriously my favorite flower ever!!! Roses do not truly exist in black; they are actually such a deep red that to the eye they seem black. You can buy dyed black roses and they are gorgeous, but the truly amazing black rose is deep in red or purple color. I have always loved them.

The roses Daniel gave me!
Anyway, Daniel and I drove down town to Rodizio Grill for dinner. It is a Brazilian steakhouse and they walk around with meat on big skewers and serve it to you at your leisure. It wasn't badly priced either, it cost us $70 dollars with tip. I thought that was a pretty good deal for all the food they serve you. I got the salad bar which is not a typical salad bar. They have some of the basics to make a salad, but mostly they have pre-made types of salad to choose from. My favorite was the mozzarella salad. It was huge pieces of mozzarella with tomatoes and some seasoning. They also had a few warm salad bar items and I ate their alfredo and some rice. Our server looked at me like I had lost my mind when I said I only wanted the salad bar due to the fact that I am vegetarian. Daniel ate more meat than I have ever seen one person eat in their whole life in one setting. I am pretty sure his favorite was the turkey wrapped in bacon he ate until he was border line sick. We passed on dessert and decided to go get some later when his stomach settled. Overall it was a nice place to spend our anniversary with stuff we both liked for dinner. After dinner we went to The District and saw the movie A Christmas Carol with Jim Carrey. It was a good movie but it was a little on the spooky side. There was a scene where I just about jumped out of my seat because the theater was silent and then one of the characters got really loud. In my opinion Jim Carrey did an excellent job portraying the ghosts and also Scrooge. We saw the movie in 3D which usually gives me a headache but it wasn't too bad. It takes my eyes longer to focus and I am usually sick by the end of the movie. This movie was fine though and Daniel and I got a picture in our rockin' 3D glasses.

We look kinda funny but oh well. After the movie was over we walked over to Marble Slab and got some ice cream. They have both our favorite types of ice cream. My favorite is coconut ice cream with marshmallows and sprinkles and Daniel's favorite is peppermint. We took our ice cream home and ate it in our comfy bed. We had such a great, fun time with each other and we can't wait for the many more anniversaries we have to look forward too in our future.

Daniel and I being goofs with one of the roses Daniel gave me.

My Favorite Holiday!

Well, my favorite holiday has come and gone already and Daniel and I sure did have fun! There was a ton of stress I put on myself to complete a very detailed costume in a week. Daniel and I had decided what we were going to dress up as for Halloween months ago. Since I crammed our month of October so full of events we didn't get a chance to start working on it until Sunday October 25 after church and after family dinner. You better believe I was stressed. I have not sewn anything with detail for about 2 years and I have never sewn anything with that much detail. I took a sewing class back my junior year of high school which was 5 years ago, so I had really set myself up with this costume. I bought most of the fabric on Saturday for my costume so I was ready to sew. Then I went to Savers (which is kinda like a D.I.) and found some stuff for Daniel's costume. I don't go to Savers or the D.I. except to drop stuff off so my mom and my sister had a good time making fun of the fact that I would not touch anything. I know I am lame, my whole entire family loves the D.I. they say they find cheap treasures there. I myself am not a fan of the place so I had Daniel do the rest of the shopping for his costume himself. There is reason I am not a fan of the place, it is yucky. When we walked out of Savers there was this lady sitting on the sidewalk with two children, she was hacking up a lung and she had abrasions all over her face it was gross and scary. If Maddie was with me she probably would have ran away because she thinks she is going to get a disease from people that look like that due to the amount of CSI television shows she watches, I can't say I blame her.

Anyway, after my eventful day shopping on Saturday I began working on my dress Sunday. I cut out all the pattern pieces that I needed and began to cut out some of the fabric. Once I was finished doing that cutting it was late and time for bed. I worked Monday and after work went and picked Maddie up to come help me with my costume. She did most of the cutting while I did the pinning and sewing. I had a Simplicity pattern and let me tell you how not simple they are. It was the hardest thing I have ever had to read in all of my life and I am a good reader. It took me all night Monday to get the bodice sewn together. I wanted to rip it up and burn it by the time it was finally together with the lining and all!

Ta, da!!! My finished bodice!
Once the bodice was finished we called it a night and went to bed. Then Tuesday came around and I went in to work and asked my dad if I could leave early to work on my costume. I left around 1 PM to go pick up Maddie. We ran a few errands to pick up some stuff that I had forgotten for the costume and went to my house to slave away on my costume. We got pretty much everything cut out and I worked on trying to read the pattern. It was pretty late and I had done nothing new to my dress and was so frustrated I thought I was never going to finish, so we called it a night. Wednesday morning I went to work and left early again. I felt like such a slacker because I never take work off, I don't like not working. I went and picked up Mad and called Aunt Connie. Her mother-in-law (Grandma Cosman) lives right next door and she is marvelous at sewing. I knew someone would be able to assist me if I went there. So, I went there and Grandma Cosman explained everything to me in ways I could understand. Even they said the pattern didn't make a whole lot of sense and it was even missing a part. After receiving some sewing advice we went to my house to tackle the project again. I took the night off from Wingers and I finally got the dress put together!!

Full dress missing most of the detail! Yay!
I didn't work on the dress on Thursday since I actually went to both of my jobs and stayed the full time!!! Yay me!! Friday I woke up early and added all the black beads to the arms and added all the beading to the bodice. I also made a collar which I forgot to bring to my moms house for the party. I was pretty bummed about that! It still looks pretty awesome. From head to toe I match Tim Burton's version of The Queen of Hearts as much as possible. I painted some of my ankle boots gold and put a black heart on the toe like hers and I even ordered the same tights as she has on. I say it turned out pretty well. As for Daniel's costume we made his hat from poster board, foam board, fabric and lots of hot glue. He has sewing spools, a pink collared shirt, colorful bowtie and stuff hanging from his pockets. Daniel pinstriped the pants himself since he couldn't find some already pinstriped in the right color. His Jacket was bought but altered to look like the Mad Hatters. Lucky him he found some boots that matched pretty close and socks too. Everything on him matched Tim Burton's version of the Mad Hatter as close as we could get, and that is pretty close if I do say so myself!!

The final products...FINALLY!!
We went to my parent's house on Saturday night for a Halloween Party. Most of my family was there since Halloween is pretty big to us. My dad was a Karate Guy and my mom was some sort of Ghoul. She always calls herself Jewel the Ghoul at Halloween.
Chaz decided to match Kelly and they dressed up as Mr. Ping and Mr. Pong they thought they were like some sort of Ping Pong masters. Brock was a Ladies Man...leave it to Brock to be something "cool" for Halloween. He was trying to master the pimp status without actually using the word pimp since the mom says its not appropriate :) ha ha he did good though!

Jelaire dressed up as a Lady Bug. I don't think she has ever been something ugly, scary or evil for Halloween. She is always something cute, pretty and nice. We are always opposite ha ha.

My sewing partner and one of my best friends Maddie and her husband Jakob came to the party. Jakob and I have been friends forever, I am actually how they met :) They were mobsters. You should have seen her shoes they were awesome with brass knuckles as the heels.
Jessica, Jen and Baby Ashton stopped in for a while. They are friends of the family and we love love love it when they have time to come and see us! They are sisters and Ashton is Jens baby. He is so cute! Don't you just want to kiss his cheeks? I sure do!! I told Daniel that next year we should be Mr. and Mrs. Incredible and steal baby Ashton for Jack-Jack :) look at the head it says Jack-Jack all over it. Then my sister said Jen should be Violet and all we would need is a Dash!! Happy little family.
Halloween is just about over. Here is a picture of our costumes again. You can see my shoes and tights in the picture with Jelaire and Kelly.
Here is a close up of what we look like as The Queen of Hearts and The Mad Hatter.
We were so tired at the end of the night and Jen decided to put herself in the hat that we made and we all though it was hilarious!! I mean look at it ha ha ha!
When everyone went home all the family stayed up until 2 in the morning watching The Nightmare Before Christmas. "This is Halloween, this is Halloween lalala lalala lalalalala" Then we called it a night! Now to start planning for next year so I don't stress myself out at the last minute. We have a couple options one is to be The Riddler and Poison Ivy from Batman and Maddie and Jakob will be Harley Quinn and The Joker. So far that is the one we are considering the most, but we have a year to decide.

Daniel and I will be celebrating our 2 year anniversary this coming Monday and we are pretty excited about that! Then New Moon is out in theaters on the 20th. After that it will be Thanksgiving...not my favorite holiday since I am a vegetarian, but I like the quality family time and also planning Black Friday!! Woot Woot!! I can't wait for that! Anyway I need to get going have a wonderful November!!

Temple Sealing and October coming to a Close

Snow!!! Yes I said it snow! It is falling from the sky coming down and probably screaming my name to torture me! I do not like snow, don't get me wrong it makes things beautiful but the thought of having to drive on it seriously gives me a stomach ache! Driving in it makes me sick and by the time I get to my destination I am so sick to my stomach I have to spend 30 minutes in the bathroom because driving had worried me so much. This year Daniel went and had snow tires put on my car for safety purposes but I just want a new vehicle. I want a SUV preferably a Lexus RX I probably wont be getting it but I can wish right? We do plan on getting me an SUV before we have kids but that isn't for a couple years. Anyway, enough about me being terrified of the snow.

Daniel and I were sealed on October 17, 2009. We were so grateful that we were finally able to go through the temple together. There were so many loved ones there to share the experience with us. We are now stuck with each other forever :) We wouldn't have it any other way. We just got the pictures back from the day we got sealed so I decided I would post a little about the day and put up the pictures. There are many more pictures on my Facebook account then on here since I try to limit the amount of pictures I post on our Blog. Daniel's Aunt Helen came in from Louisiana for our sealing and we were so blessed to be able to have her there. There was quite the turn out at both the sealing and the dinner of both friends and family to support us. We are very grateful to those people who were able to attend and who did everything they could do to spend that day with us. It is such a special time for Daniel and I and for both of our families because now I am eternally linked to his family and he is eternally linked to mine. We will be forever with each other and with the others families. Pretty special huh? We missed all the people who could not attend and we know that there were many people with us that day in spirit. We have some pretty awesome friends and family!!

Here is a group picture of most of the people that were at the temple with us, some people bailed before the picture was taken.

This is Us with Daniel's sister Nicole. She drove from Ephraim to be here for us on this very special day and we are both grateful she showed her love and support by being at the temple that day.

This is us with my siblings My brother in law: Kelly, Sister: Jelaire, Brother: Chaz and other brother: Brock. Their ties are pretty cool huh?? Meant to match :)
This is my family with my Grandma Helen outside of the temple after our sealing.
Once again my family but this time with my Aunt Susie and Cousin Nathan
Daniel's Family: His Aunt and Uncle with their children
I love this picture of Daniel and I It will probably be our Christmas picture.
The dip :) LOVE!!!

This day was very special for Daniel and I both and we are happy it could happen. Since then we have been continuing with our daily lives with work and school. Daniel just finished midterms last week and he is now back full time at Wingers with me. He is a trained Manager and will be able to step in as a manager whenever needed. So he is a server full time and a fill in manager which is perfect for us because then I don't have to transfer Wingers. If he was a full time Manager then we would not be able to work with each other. Wingers is getting busier and we are loving that. Halloween is Saturday and the costumes are coming along. I still have a ton to do for both of them so I am praying I will finish in time for Halloween!! I will post sometime after Halloween. Until then have a great week and a fantastic Halloween!! :)

California, Sealing and Such

Home sweet home! Can I just say how much I love being home!! Don't get me wrong I love vacation but as much as I love vacation I love being home in my own clean bed even more. So Daniel, My Family and I left for California October 10th. We stopped in Vegas on the way down and Daniel and I got some pretty sweet deals in the Hurley outlet store. When we got to Cali we checked in to our hotel and we all had to share a two bed room until Daniel and My room was available the next morning. It was a pretty tight squeeze for seven of us to fit in a pretty small room but we made it work. While in California we hit up the Orange county Swap Meet; we went to the Dana Point Harbor; spent 3 days in Disneyland with a park hopper pass for California Adventure and went to the San Diego Temple. At the Swap Meet Jelaire and I saw two contestants from America's Next Top Model. Their names are Amanda and Michelle and we were so excited since we are practically obsessed with the show. They took a picture with us and were way nice. The next event would be the Dana Point Harbor which is my favorite. We met my Aunt Susie and Cousins Chelsea and Nathan there and we went to Girl in the Curl which is a small surf shop near the harbor and we went and looked at all the shops on the harbor. It was such a blast and after that we went to a little Mexican restaurant that I thought was pretty tasty...no one else really liked it that much. I love Mexican food though; I could seriously eat it every day. Then, Disneyland, the happiest place on earth! We spent three days hopping from Disneyland to California Adventure Land. We went on every ride we wanted to go on and some of them twice! My favorite Disneyland ride is Peter Pan and Daniel said he likes all the Mountains (i.e. Space, Splash and Thunder). Then in California Adventure my favorite ride is The Tower of Terror, you practically lose your stomach on that ride and I love it but Daniel is not too fond of it. His favorite ride in California Adventure is California Screamin' which is a big roller coaster so that is pretty typical to be his favorite. We of course saw Minnie and Mickey Mouse they were all cute in Halloween Costumes because this time of year the Disney villains take over Disneyland and everything is Halloween. It is my favorite time of year at Disneyland since Halloween is my favorite holiday. On the 13th we celebrated my dads B-Day and Disneyland gave him a button to wear he thought it was so cool that everyone wished him a Happy Birthday. Spending three days at the parks was a new thing for me and I absolutely loved it. I am used to a one day trip to Disneyland and you have to rush around like crazy people. I love Disneyland! Once my family headed back to Utah Daniel and I had a day to ourselves and we spent that day going to the San Diego temple. It is my favorite temple and always has been. It is beautiful on the outside and even more beautiful inside. We were able to do a session and I loved it! It was my second time ever doing a session and we were asked to be a witness couple which is pretty special I thought....a bit nerve wracking at first but I loved it! Also, a distant relative was there and I didn't get a chance to tell him who I was but my mom will call him so that made the experience even more cool! Our experience was absolutely wonderful overall! I loved California and in a whole it is a blast and has a special place in my heart probably since I was born there but there is no place like home! I was craving the dry air of Utah by the end of our vacation. The day after we got home Daniel and I were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple and it was such an awesome experience to share with loved ones. We are so grateful to those who showed us their love and support by coming. I will write all about it in my next blog since I am still waiting on pictures :) Until then have a wonderful time with life!!!
